Walkers Shortbread is a family run company. It was founded a hundred years ago in 1898 by Joseph Walker, the grandfather of the present owners Joseph, Marjorie and James Walker. The company has its origins in a small village bakery in the picturesque village of Aberlour, nestling in a peaceful valley, alongside the river Spey, in the Grampian region of north east Scotland.

The company's continuing success has meant a move from the orginal bakery behind the shop, to a small factory, tucked out of sight behind a copse of fir trees. Here a dedicated workforce, drawn from villages for miles around, make the world famous Walkers Shortbread, Oatcakes, Biscuits, Cakes and Meringues.

Today the shortbread is made to the original recipe from sugar, flour, butter and salt. No artificial flavourings, colourings or additives are permitted.
